In 2017, Cardi B debuted her first major record label single, "Bodak Yellow."
Fans immediately noticed the
similarities between Bodak Yellow and Cardi B's Atlantic Records
label mate, Kodak Black's song, "No Flockin."
Cardi B never denied the influence, in
fact, Bodak is paying homage to Kodak, hence the name, "Bodak Yellow." For the record, Cardi didn't produce
the song and no one knows much much of her performance was actually
written by her.
The song has since sold over 9 million copies
to date, it may be diamond, (10 million copies sold in the USA) by the time my blog and video are
uploaded! For the record, most of the, "sales" was of course streams and not physical
sales. However, a hit record is a hit record, even if your label made
you a star. Not hating, just speaking facts.
But I digress.
In 2016 or 2017, the partner of independent rapper,
music producer and song writer Queen Pheena, sent her song, “Cinematic” to Cardi B's manager at the time,
Shaft. Allegedly. I only say allegedly for legal reasons. I
personally believe Queen Pheena, that's why I'm reposting the
following video to hopefully help to bring attention to this issue.
For the record, I say Shaft is Cardi B's
former manager, because news broke in 2018 about Shaft suing Cardi for
$10 million and Cardi is allegedly counter suing him for $15 million!
Back to Queen Pheena vs. Cardi B!
I heard Cinematic, and I've heard Bodak
yellow countless times.

In my personal opinion it sounds like this should be a slam dunk case, allegedly. However there's one issue that stands in the way of Queen Pheena being compensated and credited for her work, and that's the fact plagiarism and copyright lawsuits are not always easy to prove or win in court.

For example, a Christian rapper named
Flame released a song and music video in 2008 titled, “Joyful
Noise.”
Fast forward to 2013, Capitol Records recording artist, Pop singer Katy Perry released a song and music video titled, “Dark Horse”, featuring Juicy J from the Rap group 3,6 Mafia.
Joyful Noise doesn't just have a similar melody to Dark Horse, they sound identical in my opinion. The snare also sounds nearly identical in my opinion as well.The difference from my standpoint is Dark Sounds a little bit slower and the pitch my be a little different. Katy's song may include an alleged sample from Joyful Noise.

However, Judge Christina A. Snyder said
the following about that case, “It is undisputed in this case, even
viewing the evidence in the light most favorably to plaintiffs, that
the signature elements of the eight-note Ostinato in Joyful Noise is
not a particularly unique or rare combination,”

In other words, even if your song
appears to have been allegedly lifted by a mainstream recording
artist, you may lose your case because the melody or elements of the
song were not, “unique”, or “rare”, enough to score a victory
in court! I swore Flame would win that case when the lawsuit was
announced. And for the record, a jury initially gave him a victory in court for
his copyright infringement case. The judge ruled in Katy's favor,
therefore he lost in the end!
And for the ignorant people in the back
who will say Queen Pheena's case has no merit because well, you don't
want to believe anyone would ever, ever ever ever steal someones
music in 2020. Plagiarism is not new. The music industry is rife with
plagiarist.
In the 1960's The Beach Boys were sued
over their hit record “Surfin USA!”
The song they allegedly stole from?"
Chuck Berry's “Sweet Little Sixteen.”
FAST FORWARD!
In 2013, Robin Thicke, Pharrell
Williams and TI were sued by the children of Marvin Gaye.

Pharrell titled, “Blurred Lines”

Not only are musicians accused of
stealing other peoples ideas, it happens in politics, business,
anywhere intellectual property exists, people will copy and remix or flat out
blatantly steal someones ideas. Martin Luther King Jr, Russian
president Vladimir Putin and American comedian, actress and author B.
Simone have all been accused of it.
To add further complications to things, some people think plagiarism is a form of flattery.

For example, Tik Tok star Dela Wesst has also recently accused Cardi B and the people around her of allegedly stealing her music.
Recently, Dela and a rival rapper, Dani had an explosive exchange on Instagram Live. Dani allegedly told Dela in so many words, to paraphrase, "You should be
happy, you should be flattered if they used your music."

I don't blame Cardi B for anything. In my opinion she is 100% innocent and while I am not accusing anyone of anything. I don't think Cardi B is the type of person who goes around stealing from other musicians without crediting them. She's always shown love and paid homage to those who came before her, those who have inspired her and those who she respects and admires. Her team however, well, I think whoever is writing and producing her songs may have some explaining to do. Because, I think Cardi is more of a performer, not much of a writer and I doubt she produces the tracks she records to.
WHY IS CARDI B'S NAME BEING BROUGHT UP IN ALL OF THIS?
Cardi possibly profited the most from
the success of the song, "Bodak Yellow", her name is on it as the recording artist, which makes her the face of it. You don't see the producer or the audio engineer or the CEO of Atlantic Records in the music video, you see Cardi. We know the song because of her and not because of the other people who were involved with creating the song. The artist is always sued, it doesn't matter whether or not they wrote a lyric, or played a note on the instrument.
FOR THE PEOPLE BAD MOUTHING QUEEN PHEENA!
Cardi B fans who are upset about Queen Pheena's accusations have falsely accused her of being a, "Clout Chaser", just looking for a pay day and some publicity. Most of the people who have said this have obviously not heard her song Cinematic or they're ears are damaged. The melody sounds so similar, I question anyone's sanity that doesn't at least think Bodak Yellow was inspired melodically by Cinematic.
I take particular offense to the people who are victim
blaming artist. Asking gas lighting questions such as, "How come you didn't say something the day the song
came out?" Or. "Why did you wait so long to say something?" Do either of these stupid questions change the matter at hand? An up and coming artist thinks her music was stolen from her, her intellectual property and you're reaction is...
well, how can I spin this and blame her?
I first heard of Queen Pheena and the Cinematic vs. Bodak Yellow situation in 2019.
I don't know why I didn't hear about all of this in 2017, however, I hope it's all settled by 2021!

First of all, the video is obviously, allegedly, maybe about August Alsina, it was posted in the month of August and she's talking about cheating, self mastery, peoples traumatic lives, come on now!
August has been through it. He's had a rough life, he was dating Jada, caught feelings and couldn't play his position. Dude, you were her young fling, you were her side piece. August probably thought his love for Jada was so strong it would overpower her decades long marriage with her real husband. And I emphasize the word real because August was so delusional, he swore his bedroom skills and connection with Jada was going to win her over, I guess.
August, I doubt Jada played you, I think you played yourself. Can y'all l believe nearly 2 years ago she told the world this message which went over most peoples heads? It was all in his head!

After an intense interview with
Hollywood actor, movie producer and business man William Smith and
his wife Jada Pinkett Smith went viral today, July 10, 2020, rumors of Will
dating his co stars on the side have been the subject of controversy.
He's currently trending on twitter as I post this blog!
The controversy started when R&B
singer August Alsina was recently interviewed by Power 105, “The
Breakfast Club” DJ, Angela Yee. August spoke about an alleged
relationship he had with very married actress Jada Pinkett Smith!
You'd think he was speaking about his wife the way he spoke with so
much emotion and conviction about their alleged dealings. Jada almost
immediately did damage control and said his interview was not true,
she denied their was something going on yet this new interview with
Will and Jada potentially says otherwise.
While Jada may have allegedly had a
very intimate and close relationship with the young singer, it looks
like Will may have had a whole lot going to say the least. He said he
got Jada back real good and the internet has the alleged names.
Social media claims Will saw Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Eva
Mendez and Margot Robbie while being married with Jada Pinkett. After
some digging here is what I found. I asked myself 2 simple questions,
Have their been any news articles romantically linking Will to any of the
actresses he's alleged to have dated? And, has he ever worked with
any of them on movie projects, linking his name with theirs professionally.

Up until this point, I did find professional associations. But what about rumors over the years of him seeing any of these women?
Rumors about Will's shenanigans with
Margot Robbie started in 2013 when multiple news outlets claimed the
two had more going on that just work. I'm not sure what they may have
starred in together as early as 2013, however Will filmed a movie
titled “Focus”, with Robbie which was released in theaters in
2015, just two years after they were rumored to have a fling. Not
sure if they were working on the film in 2013 or not.
